Surfing and Carpooling
We all have a passion. My husband is an avid surfer. Every morning with a cup of coffee on hand, he slides onto his office chair and he does the daily web cam surf check on line. It doesn’t matter if there’s any surf or not it’s just his routine. I suppose his not alone in his passion. But lately, he has to strategize surfing (whether we’re surfers or kayakers or what ever it is we have by heart we are all affected by the rising cost of gas). I cannot help but think do we have to forego our passion due to the expense of gas? The East Coast has been experiencing consistency on quality of waves this summer but passionate Surfers have their eyes on the prize which means in order to get to a surfing spot they would have to drive. It’s no secret that the Outer Banks has the best surf spot on the East Coast but these days surfing at OBX would require combining trips or car pool.

My Tween
11 years ago I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. I remember taking him home from the hospital feeling both happy and uncertain. I was assailed with judgment from both sides of the family. A free reign to question my ability to raise my child. I had my own assumption as well. I possess his birth certificate instead of a college diploma. My own self-image collapse but grew to realize that institution would wait and this child could not. He thought me patience and acceptance over the years and I cannot imagine my life any other.
Yesterday at his birthday party his friend confronted him that his friend’s parents are going through a divorce. At first, I wasn’t so sure of what the whispering was all about and so I observed their interaction I saw my son in his best ability to be a good friend he gently places his hand on his friend’s shoulder and says…”things will turn out well for you and they will get back together or something, dude.” My heart skipped a beat just like the day he was born…

Always count your solid prescription pills or capsules
My mother is on a fixed income and on Medicare Part D so when she started calling anyone of her children including me to help her out on her prescription drug refill all siblings started to wonder why she needed refills too soon (3 days too early). Some of her prescription was coming 1 to 3 pills short how often this had occurred none of us are sure. So I called her pharmacist and they informed us that all solid prescription pills and capsules are counted by machine by weight and they assured us that they will begin dispensing solid prescription by hand. (I believe they gave me this reason to just appease me.) So my best advice, advocate for your self, your friend or your relatives that they count their medicines. Drugstore pharmacies will not compensate the client for their inaccuracies.
