20-min of colossal noise
So MBV (My Bloody Valentine) played at The National in Richmond, VA last night (sold out show and a saaweet venue no less) and one still has to ask an explanation of MBV’s appeal? Well, to listen is to hear but to go is to experience their “20-min of noise freak-out”. If you have a weak heart, prone to seizures and highly sentsitive to noise even with plugs, Don’t Go! Seriously! This show will rock your inner organs. If you didn’t feel the floor vibrate underneath your feet, it’s because you were in the wrong show! You will walk out and think, you had a colonoscopy. You will do a body check and see if your organs are still in place. (Do you get the picture yet?)
It is a must see show. Trust me after 20-min you will ‘get the appeal’ The sense of their art and a separation of music style. Let’s do a short analogy, the 70’s to classic rock, the 80’s is to new wave, the 90’s is to grunge and this milennia is still underconstruction being paved by rockers like MVB.

Jorandy (my nephew)
It’s so nice to see how grown up and oh so talented my nephew have become. I hope you enjoy this link as much as I have. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

SK8T
My oldest son enjoys it so much and entered his photo in the PTA Reflections in 2007 theme “My Favorite Place” and won state level Award of Exelence in Intermediate Division. Here he is with Bucky Lasek circa 2006.

Thoughts on turning 12 years old
In first grade you had difficulty in reading. I cried and wondered what I missed. Did I not take enough pre-natal vitamins? Were you born two days too soon from the due date? And now for two summers in a row you’ve attended and thoroughly enjoyed your stay at University of Virginia Enrichment camp. You’re reading level is better than fine.
As we age together mistakes are going to be made both mine and yours. Yes I can be outrageously over the top in discipline that can make a General cower in fetal position. You may not understand my insistence but know it is for the best. I will back off and Let You Be! (minus the tattoos and piercings and my fear of excessive binge drinking- let’s not go there by the way). But for now “Carpe Diem!” You are a source of happiness to all of us. You’re smile and gaze is infectious. You can thank me later.
Love and always,
mom
