After the walk
I don’t know him very well but one didn’t have to know him well at all to know that he is a real good guy but if anyone was ever affected by destiny it was he. I pace back and forth thinking of what I would say to a guy whose suffering from ALS. It turns out none.
I’ve seen him on occasion. Once, we brushed elbows in between the pasta bowl and a plate of barbecue chicken. Today, however, was not one of those days. He sits on a wheel chair still as dashing as ever since I last saw him. His wife under the circumstance stands dignified beside him. They were both lovely. His mood seemed to reflect a feeling of contentment. Yet, I stammered for the words in my head. I said hello as it turns out I was the one who was not prepared. He said my name. Inaudible yet his lips carved out a warm “Hey Meg” almost effortlessly. I almost took off afraid he would see the tears welling in my eyes. I gathered my composure and none of the words I preconceived in my head were the words that were going to be said instead I say, “There’s a lot of love in this room for you.” No doubt he would have given me a hug if he could. There was no need. His eyes ruminate a thousand feelings of gratitude.

Always count your solid prescription pills or capsules
My mother is on a fixed income and on Medicare Part D so when she started calling anyone of her children including me to help her out on her prescription drug refill all siblings started to wonder why she needed refills too soon (3 days too early). Some of her prescription was coming 1 to 3 pills short how often this had occurred none of us are sure. So I called her pharmacist and they informed us that all solid prescription pills and capsules are counted by machine by weight and they assured us that they will begin dispensing solid prescription by hand. (I believe they gave me this reason to just appease me.) So my best advice, advocate for your self, your friend or your relatives that they count their medicines. Drugstore pharmacies will not compensate the client for their inaccuracies.

Wii Fit
I decided I was going to seriously drop the lbs and my best place to start is with the Wii Fit. When I first tried Wii Sports, I just about threw my shoulder out playing bowling so for me trying Wii Fit is a bit intimidating. (I like the notion of having my sweat-fest in the privacy of own home.) With this new found vigor in exercise, I bravely weighed myself on the balance board and began my ‘routine’. I found the intensity very low (even for a non gym goer like myself) and easily unlocked another level. So I moved on to the Yoga exercise and felt I was receiving the intended benefits.
Overall, Wii Fit is fun but I know it will not replace my occasional craving for going outside to take a brisk walk or even jog. Nintendo is indeed innovative in capturing the couch potato demographics and I have a feeling along with this success in self-improvement, I wouldn’t be surprise if Nintendo isn’t on the drawing board already developing “Wii Kama Sutra” designed to jumped start the libido. Could you imagine how many views that would get on You Tube?
